PMHNP PRACTICE

PMHNP Clinical Simulation

Sim Ed Practice gives psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner students and new graduates a low-stakes place to rehearse full patient encounters with fictional, simulated patients.

What a PMHNP simulation includes

Each case starts with an appointment and pre-visit chart. You lead the interview by text or voice, explore symptoms and history, and ask follow-up questions as the patient responds.

After the visit, you document your assessment and plan, then review feedback on your interview, clinical reasoning, safety, management, and documentation.

Skills you can rehearse

Psychiatric history taking, mood and anxiety symptom exploration, attention concerns, suicide and safety risk screening, and treatment planning conversations.

How it fits your training

Simulation complements — it never replaces — supervised clinical rotations and preceptor guidance. Use it to prepare, reflect, and practice again before real encounters.

Sim Ed Practice is an educational tool with fictional patients. It does not replace supervised clinical experience or provide medical advice.
